THE HATCH is riding fast on the pop music horizon and it’s signaling a change. The four-piece rock band’s ambitious approach to songwriting has made them one of the most exciting unsigned bands in both the Los Angeles and St. Louis music circuits. The sing-along pop of “One Man Show”, the danceable funk of “Find Them” and the country-infused groove of “The Scene” all prove that the band’s diverse sound is a reflection of their even more diverse music tastes. Although impossible to attach them to any one genre or artist, the band impregnates the inspirational sounds of classic artists like Stevie Wonder, Led Zeppelin and early Elton John with the influences of more contemporary innovators like Jeff Buckley and Ed Harcourt in yielding their oddly retro sound. In their short run, the Hatch has cut 3 EP’s and has opened for national acts like Live, Josh Kelly, Ingram Hill, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Brian Van Der Ark (of the Verve), and the Bacon Brothers. They have put their soulful rock on display in front of sold out shows in both Los Angeles and St. Louis, leaving thousands with the taste of something new. “These four twenty-somethings play as if they’d been doing so, in this formation and with these songs, for many, many years: They’re that practiced, that talented. But we all know it takes more than talent to make it in the music business—or, hell, to capture a chatty crowd’s attention at a jam-packed concert venue—and The Hatch have that, too. That indefinable je ne sais quoi: the love of music, of writing, playing, performing, giving it their all.” -Laura Hamlett, Playback St. Louis, March 2005

hey everybody!! I am a solo artist from hillsboro, Mo. I started playing guitar when I was about 12 years old. I was in a little junior high band as a guitarist, but I knew that I had a desire to sing, although I didn't have the guts to do it at the time. My freshman year, I wrote my first song, "There Again," and played it at the school talent show and won. Since then, I have written about 25 songs. Although I love to sing and play, my real joy comes from knowing that others enjoy my music. Being a perfectionist, I am never really happy with my own stuff, so encouragement from friends and family keeps me going. I just came out with my first self-titled cd, and have about 6 songs for a new one. In the future, I hope to continue to write music whether it goes anywhere or not.
