Daniel McCarthy's Bio
Only 26 years old my life in Art is very much at its early stage, but my knowledge and love for it is very high. I have always been encouraged with my creative side. I really began my study of art in High School. This is where my basic knowledge of drawing, composition, color, and creative thinking grew. I slowly grew confidence in my skills, but it was not until I learned how to paint did I truly decided that this was the path that I wished to pursue.
I graduated from DeSmet Jesuit High School and went to Washington University in St. Louis. Here I was able to study all forms of art. My skills really began to flourish. I was able to focus on my art and profect my skills in drawing, painting, color theory, and compostional design. My knowledge of art was broaden with the studing of art history. Being able to know what has been created before you is the only way that an artist can hope to be original.
In addition to studing art and art history, I was able to play a college sport with football for four years. I was able to study different subjects of knowledge, including math, science, and most importantly literature. Much of my art reflects narritive.
My painting has allowed me to continue my creative path. My art is brought about from images of my life, subjects of my mind, and love, death, and creation. To create these images I try to mold strong compostion with complex color. I continue to challenge myself with my work. I strive to reach people with my work and touch them with my color and subject matter.
